Transforming Trauma Into Freedom with Susan Gold
Susan Gold is the executive behind Susan Gold Consulting LLC, an organization that creates opportunities for brands and develops business by constructing strategic alliances and leveraging relationships. She is the author of Toxic Family: Transforming Childhood Trauma into Adult Freedom. In Toxic Family, Susan chronicles how—after prevailing through an unstable family dynamic—she went on to transform her life, launch her own talent brokerage firm, and make a name for herself building connections between celebrities and brands, eventually paving the way for her to become a producer for film and television.
Susan joins me today to share her journey in transforming childhood trauma into adult freedom. She describes the violent, unstable household she grew up in and how she managed to keep herself safe through dance. She discusses how she dreamed about going to New York City as a teenager and how she later worked with her heroine, Barbara Walters. She also explains the purpose of traditional therapy and somatic modalities, highlights the kind of healing work she underwent to find freedom and healing, and describes learning to live in a comfortable, loving relationship as an adult.
“The puzzle pieces connected magically, and I could see how it all came together for the beauty of soul evolution.” - Susan Gold
