Worthy of Care

May 18, 2023

About a year ago, I shared my experiences at my first all-women retreat cultivated and led by my friend and fellow coach, Allison Crow. I talked about how I had avoided women’s retreats, fearing that I would not be able to connect or create connections with other women. But I went nonetheless and learned more about my avoidance and how I related with other women.

Recently, I made another huge move—I went back to camp. Here’s what happened.

In this episode, I share my experience of going back to camp. I explain how I didn’t get hung up on being perceived as antisocial and put my desire to rejuvenate above all else. I also describe how I stayed present with my fellow campers, spent time with people, and showed up open.

“I showed up open and took care of myself—saved myself—I always have. But this time, it wasn’t because I had to, but because I could; because I’m worthy of care, and so are you.” - Karen Goldfinger Baker
