Owning Your Brokenness & Embracing Freedom with Mark Silverman

June 17, 2021

Mark J. Silverman is the bestselling author of Only 10’s 2.0: Confront Your To-Do List and Transform Your Life. He is the creator and facilitator of Only 10’s online course, the Leadership & Resiliency course, and the Mastering Midlife Master Circle. Mark is a powerful executive coach, speaker, and host of the weekly podcast: Mastering Midlife, a show that explores how you can thrive in a world that asks the most of you through direct, meaningful conversations with world-leading experts and entrepreneurs. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Applied Science from National Louis University with a focus on Business Administration and Management and a certification from the Foundation for Holistic Life Coaching in Holistic Health and Transformational Coaching.

Mark joins me today to discuss his childhood trauma and the importance of embracing who you are and owning your ‘brokenness.’ He shares his experience of growing up believing that making mistakes was equal to life and death, how it has impacted his life, and why he currently believes that your childhood traumas do not define who you are or who you will be in the future. He shares how he transformed his life from being homeless and addicted to alcohol to becoming the joyous, loving, successful entrepreneur he is today and the people that helped him achieve a better life. We also discuss why Mark believes that losing everything was the greatest gift he’s received in life and how it allowed him to rediscover who he is and rebuild his life in a more authentic and organic way.

“Whenever I confront my ego, whenever I tell the truth about myself, whenever I reveal something vulnerable, it’s a little death of my ego - but it’s life for me.” - Mark Silverman
