Remembering Hope with Catherine Hammond

February 02, 2023

Catherine Hammond is a transformational coach and author. Her book, hope(less): The Truth about Hope and Where to Find It, serves as a memoir, manifesto, manual, and guidebook for people going through the ups and downs of life. An award-winning estate planning attorney, Catherine founded the full-service estate planning firm Hammond Law Group PC in 2005 to serve the needs of her community. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Psychology from Coe College and her Juris Doctor degree from the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver.

Catherine joins me today to discuss how we can remember and reconnect with hope—no matter our circumstances. She describes her early struggles with hope and how she started thinking differently about it. She outlines the learned lies and uncultivated truths surrounding hope. Catherine also reveals how hope can create a world of deeper connection and love and underscores how we all have an internal wellspring of hope that never runs out.

“Hopelessness is a mind trick—there is no tube of hope that we squeeze and run out of. It is an ever-present, ever-flowing wellspring that you just tap in, and there’s always more.” - Catherine Hammond
