Unless you’ve been living off the grid, you know that we don’t talk about Bruno. For anyone out of the loop, Bruno Madrigal is a character from the Disney animation film, Encanto. He’s the family member who’s shunned and in hiding due to his differences. If he sounds like a member of the Trauma Hiders Club, it’s no coincidence. After all, we often talk about not fitting in and, at the deeper level, not having a sense of belonging. But in my fantasy, it’s Mirabel Madrigal who represents all the members of the Trauma Hiders Club.

In this episode of the Trauma Hiders Club, I explain why the Trauma Hiders Club is a collective of Mirabels. I discuss the loneliness that surrounds trauma and describe the feeling of trying to measure up to standards set by the people who overshadow us. I also reveal what our gifts are and underscore why we are more than our miracles.
