Words of Love

February 03, 2022

I have recently been thinking about the words that we hear and don’t hear as children and the relationship those words have with our adulthood. You see, between my mother’s Lewy body dementia and my father’s fading short-term memory, I’m often struck by the realization that the gates of opportunity to have loving conversations with them are closing.

So, I went to Facebook and Instagram and asked my network: what do you want to hear but never heard as kids?

In this episode, I share the words of love I wanted to hear and the words others wish they heard when they were growing up.

“The gates to have loving conversation with my family have never been wide open, yet I know that if I want to hear words of love, they are here for me to speak.” - Karen Goldfinger Baker
