Trauma Hiders Club Podcast
Recognize – It's A Long Road
Healing trauma can be a long, long journey. In my own healing experience, I spent so much time creating safe spaces and safe resources - all of which were imagined. I spent so much time creating those imaginary safe places and containers that I only spent 10% of my time actually unpacking and dealing with the trauma... and 90% in those containers.
That’s why the sixth rule of the Trauma Hiders Club is to remember that it’s a long road, and how long healing takes (or will take) for you is less important than the quality of your relationship to healing and support. What matters the most is to do the work, bringing together your experiences from a place of safety, working with a professional therapist or trauma coach, and developing relationships outside of therapy that will support your healing.
In this episode, I discuss the sixth rule of the Trauma Hiders Club and the importance of seeking supportive relationships outside therapy. I describe how much time I spent in my own healing journey creating safe spaces for myself. I also highlight the value of working with a professional therapist, counselor, or trauma coach and underscore how it’s the setting up of safety that will help you come out on the other side.
