Since our last Club Fusion set, "Don't Stop the Music," back in early October, the music scene has been underwhelming. The process of curating this final entry in the series has been anything but smooth—starting and stopping more times than I’d like to admit. Normally, I prefer to have everything in place and finish a set in one go, but the lack of standout releases made this a real challenge.
That’s not to say there aren’t any gems in this mix. Quite the opposite—through persistence and digging deep across DJ services, Beatport, and even Spotify, I uncovered tracks that truly move me. And if they move me, I know they’ll bring my followers to the dancefloor. Party Favorz doesn’t stop until the job is done.
This set features several updated throwbacks, many of which are making waves on DJ charts, while others may have flown under the radar—until now. As always, Party Favorz is here to bring the best to light. Highlights include:
Diplo’s rework of Gala’s ’90s Eurodance anthem "Freed From Desire."
David Timothy’s fresh take on Billie Ray Martin’s "Your Loving Arms."
Tommy MC’s reimagining of Jody Watley’s ’80s classic "Don’t You Want Me."
Stuart Ojelay’s heavenly spin on Danny Tenaglia’s "Music Is the Answer."
Stone Van Brooken’s faithful update of Faithless’ "Insomnia."
Block & Crown’s transformation of The Fugees’ "Ready or Not" into a House anthem.
TLC’s celebratory House remix of their hit "Creep" for CrazySexyCool’s 30th anniversary.
Cosmic Dawn’s Afro House remix of Everything But the Girl’s "Missing."
Most of these reworks remain true to the original while modernizing them for today’s dancefloors. Exceptions like TLC’s "Creep" lean heavily into reinvention, but it works beautifully.
The trend of revamping classics continues with notable remakes, such as:
Ava Max’s rendition of "Forever Young."
Ku De Ta’s "Dance I Said," sampling Salt-N-Pepa’s "Push It."
Alesso & John Alto’s update of Yes’ "Owner of a Lonely Heart."
Matt Sassari & Hugel’s faithful revival of Sonique’s "It Feels So Good," featuring a new vocalist.
Jax Jones, Azteck, and Norma Jean Martine’s fresh take on the Rihanna riff from Eminem’s "Love the Way You Lie."
It seems the trend of revamping tracks from yesteryear—be it from parents’ record collections or early CD libraries—is here to stay. When done right, these reworks breathe new life into the dancefloor.
Clocking in at just over three hours, this set blends fresh, new releases with timeless reworks, making it a strong contender for your end-of-year holiday parties. And the fun doesn’t stop here—our Top Dance Songs of the Year set drops in a few weeks,
