Elle Marquis reluctantly agrees to make a podcast about small town crime stories, starting with her hometown of Yuma AZ. Thinking it would be one episode, she sets out to tell the story about the unsolved disappearance of a girl some of her friends knew, Emily Heiber. When she reaches out to a mutual friend for a soundbite, she unwittingly gets a clue that lights a fire under this decade old cold case and fuels her obsession to find out once and for all what happened to Emily Hieber.
