Relentless Truth with John Warren

The Law and Promise
Subscribe ▼ Show Notes
All of Scripture points to Jesus Christ our Lord. The Law, the Old Testament, and the New Testament point to Christ. Today, we see the parallels between Paul’s instructions in Galatians and Romans 2 regarding our performance. How good is good enough to meet God’s standard? Is meeting God’s standard our objective? Can we reach a level that God finds acceptable with our efforts?
The LawWe are to live by faith. But what does this look like? Paul answers these questions in Galatians 3.
The law is consistent with Jesus Christ’s teachings. The law does not give us life, but Jesus does. In this episode, we discuss the consistency of all of Scripture. The law has justified no one. Scripture is clear on this. We are justified by faith. The law serves a specific purpose, but it does not justify. It reveals God’s character and helps us understand his moral design for the universe.
From Slaves to SonsWe transition from slaves to sons in Christ. This encouraging truth is due to the finished work of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and our adoption in Him. This sonship is a game-changer, and it isn’t due to our effort. Praise God, we can celebrate our sonship in Christ as we walk by faith in Him.
