Paul tells the story of his life in his letters to the churches. He presents a consolidated overview of his life in Philippians 3. We can learn much from Paul’s letters to the churches and others. He teaches theology and doctrine to be certain. But Paul also teaches us how to share our testimony in Christ. He teaches argumentation and apologetics – defending the faith. He teaches us how to correct in love and grace. He demonstrates clearly how to stand in the middle of controversy and suffering. He teaches us perspective on gain and loss, on struggling and abounding in good times and bad.

Defending the Faith

We shouldn’t miss the big picture in Paul’s epistles. We learn about his writing skills as he threads a needle in his argumentation. He provides a deep look at human nature in the context of all biblical truth. When we examine Scripture carefully, we see that it contains the knowledge we need to live this earthly life well.
