You Keep the Sabbath; The Rest Is Up to God

June 15, 2022

Life can be exhausting and overwhelming, and we often make it worse by trying to push ourselves past our limit. This isn’t healthy and it isn’t what Christ wants for us. Instead, He commands us to set aside a full day every week for Him. Your first thought might be, Who has time for that? Join us today as we talk about why YOU do, and why it’ll actually help you to be more productive in the long run, not to mention more healthy, more at peace, and closer to God.

That’s right, today we tackle the Sabbath. Join us as we talk about the importance of resting, the ways in which the Sabbath strengthens our relationship with God and others, why it stems from God’s love for us, and why even the busiest person needs it. We discuss the purpose of the Sabbath, diving into how God’s creation is a gift for us and how the Sabbath is our time to stop everything to enjoy it and partake in it. We discuss the effects of keeping the Sabbath holy, including the feeling of safety we so often crave, the rhythm it instills in our life, the rejuvenation, and the improved spiritual and mental states.

“God’s not coming to take time away from us. He’s coming to give us time.”

Dr. Martin Fletcher

“We think that God doesn’t understand the 24/7 world that we live in, but it wasn’t easier back then.”

Dr. Matt Hook

“Your real issue is not with the Sabbath. It’s over the authority of Christ in your life.”

Dr. Matt Hook

“God rested to delight in his creation and enjoy it.”

Dr. Matt Hook
