The Strength in Gentleness

May 18, 2022

What is our response to the insane level of critique, suspicion, judgmentalism, and confusion in our world? There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but an underrated and overlooked solution is gentleness.

Today, we talk about gentleness. We discuss why it’s a fruit of the Holy Spirit and why it’s directly connected with strength. We talk about the link between gentleness and meekness, and we emphasize the importance of being gentle with yourself. We note that engaging in anger makes you smaller, not bigger, and we talk about why gentleness is effective. We define the purpose of gentleness and note that it’s a lens through which to see everything else.

“Until you’ve been treated gently when you probably didn’t deserve it, you might not understand the strength and the power and the goodness that is available in gentleness. But sometimes we have to be the recipient of something before our eyes are opened to it.”
