The Magic Organ

The Magic Organ

Episode 63: Isn't that all that matters? I think so.

October 05, 2023

First off the mistakes. I say in this episode that the Nihiloxica tune is off a remix album and it's not, it's off their new record called Source of Denial which just came out on Crammed Discs and you should check that record out. That's how it works with the mistakes, those folks who get victimized get some added mentions in the show notes.

The Hella record is called Hold Your Horse Is and that just mentally hosed the voice changer which didn't understand the joke/pun so if you get that far that's the reason for that mangle. If that's any indication of the humorlessness of the incoming AI then we are f*cked. #sadface

Otherwise we got a whiter, more Anglo episode, it's not purposeful, what you get is the best of what I hear and I listen to a lot, a whole lot. The new Coral record is banging, they have a way with the arranging that is special, we go into the Roisin Murphy record which sports tasty sounds, head out to Eastern Europe ambient jam action, some reissue math rock/punk straight into the ramped up Cali singalong punk, starting to push across the finish line with the hand drumming electronic outfit from Togo/Benin Nihiloxica and finishing up with some retro folk action from P.G. Six.

Enjoy all the sounds and the genres and you know appreciate musicians, you can't do what these folks do.
