A DISCUSSION ON THE HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY OF WATCH PRODUCTION WITH PIERRE-YVES DONZE
This is Superlative: A Podcast about watches, the people behind them, and the worlds that inspire them. This week our host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined by Pierre-Yves Donzé, author of “The Business of Time.” To start the show Ariel has Perre-Yves discuss who his newest book is really for and why he wanted to write about how the world's watch production came to be produced in just a few countries. Ariel asks what were some of the pivotal moments of the 1980’s in watch production that began today's course, and the influence that some of the mega luxury groups had. Pierre-Yves explains a bit of the history of “affordability” in the space, and Ariel asks about a specific era of when consumers really became accustomed to the dependability of their timepieces.
