Ripley shares how he loves these unique and sometimes overlooked pieces and the two begin to dive into Casio having a lot of “evolutionary dead-ends” over the years that produced a lot of interesting pieces. Ripley talks about how their approach to making purpose built pieces may have us questioning their logic years later, and also how their different approach to making these tool watches with the emergence of digital technology gave us these pieces that we are still talking about to this day. Throughout the episode Ariel and Ripley go back and forth talking about everything from the history and progression of the brand, some of their very unique features and models over the years, and even Casio’s potential involvement with the smartwatch industry.
