California looks to ban all gas and diesel truck fleets

A controversial new proposal to ban diesel-powered trucks in California has sparked a divisive debate among the trucking industry, the state and environmentalists.
The California Air Resources Board has laid out an ambitious plan to eventually force all diesel truck fleets off the road, with varying timelines. This includes mandating that all new trucks operating around busy railways and ports be zero-emission vehicles by 2024; phasing out all diesel trucks from those areas by 2035; and eventually taking every diesel truck and bus fleet off California roads by 2045, where feasible.
Many representing the trucking and construction industries said that there simply isn’t enough charging capability or grid capacity in the state to move fleets over to zero-emission vehicles so quickly. (The shift away from internal combustion engines in big rigs has largely moved to battery-powered vehicles, though hydrogen fuel cell technology is also being developed.)
“The infrastructure cannot be established in the timeframe given,” said Mike Tunnell of the American Trucking Association. “Fleets will have to deploy trucks that cannot do the same job as their current trucks.”
Others pointed to logistical problems in charging electric vehicles.

The White House on Tuesday extended the student loan payment pause through June 2023.
“I’m confident that our student debt relief plan is legal. But it’s on hold because Republican officials want to block it.” Biden said in a video posted to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
“That’s why Secretary Cardona is extending the payment pause to no later than June 30, 2023, giving the Supreme Court time to hear the case in its current term.” Biden said.

US Manufacturing & Services Surveys Plunge “Deeper Into Likely Recession”

Despite US macro data surprising to the upside for the last few months (generally on dismal expectations), US Manufacturing & Services surveys have been trending lower and analysts expected this morning’s preliminary November S&P Global PMI data to continue that trend.. and they did but very dramatically.
S&P Global US Manufacturing plunged from 50.4 to 47.6 (contraction), well below the 50.0 expectation. This is the lowest since May 2020.
S&P Global US Services tumbled from 47.8 to 46.1 (contraction), below the 48.0 expectation.

“The Biden-Harris Administration lowered the deficit with the single largest one-year reduction in American history,” the claim from the White House read on Twitter.

Biden’s bogus claim has been repeatedly fact-checked as misleading by major outlets, but he and his staff continue to spread the talking point as fact.
The main source of falling deficits is the expiration of emergency coronavirus relief spending, not anything that Biden has done.
Biden has added at least $2.5 trillion to the deficit, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

New York Gov. Hochul Signs Law Restricting Cryptocurrency Mining Over ‘Environmental Concerns’

New York has become the first state in the nation to restrict cryptocurrency mining.
Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a law that temporarily restricts crypto mining in the state citing “environmental concerns.”
The bill was signed on Tuesday after being passed by the state legislature back in June.
“The law also requires the Department of Environmental Conservation to asses how cryptomining affects the state’s ability to meet its climate goals,” the report continues. “Environmentalists said New York was undermining those goals by letting cryptomining operations run their own natural gas-burning power plants.”

A digital securities bill has been presented to El Salvador’s Congress, paving the way for the issuance of bitcoin-backed bonds.

El Salvador’s Minister of the Economy Maria Luisa Hayem Brevé submitted a digital assets issuance bill to the country’s legislative assembly, paving the way for the launch of its bitcoin-backed “volcano” bonds.
First announced one year ago today, the pioneering initiative seeks to attract capital and investors to El Salvador. It was revealed at the time the plans to issue $1 billion in bonds on the Liquid Network, a federated Bitcoin sidechain, with the proceedings of the bonds being split between a $500 million direct allocation to bitcoin and an investment of the same amount in building out energy and bitcoin mining infrastructure in the region.
“Digital securities law will enable El Salvador to be the financial center of central and south America,” wrote Paolo Ardoino, CTO of cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex, on Twitter.
Bitfinex is set to be granted a license in order to be able to process and list the bond issuance in El Salvador.
The bonds will pay a 6.5% yield and enable fast-tracked citizenship for investors. The government will share half the additional gains with investors as a Bitcoin Dividend once the original $500 million has been monetized. These dividends will be dispersed annually using Blockstream’s asset management platform.

University of Florida Revokes White Quarterback Commit’s Scholarship After He Recited N-Word in Rap Song

Marcus Stokes thought he had achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a college quarterback after committing to the University of Florida to play for the Gators. In a split second, however, Florida ripped away his dream on Sunday after an unfortunate video surfaced.
Stokes recorded himself in his car last Friday singing the lyrics to a rap song. This song unsurprisingly had a number of vulgar words including the N-word. In the video below, you can hear him regurgitating the lyrics, N-word, and all:

Days after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared an invasion over surging illegal immigration numbers, the Texas National Guard is deploying tank-like armored vehicles along the U.S.-Mexico border.

According to documents obtained by the Army Times and Texas Tribune, the M113 armored personnel carrier vehicles will be deployed at 10 positions along the border. Additionally, the Texas National Guard will also increase “aircraft flights and security efforts.”

“These actions are part of a larger strategy to use every available tool to fight back against the record-breaking level of illegal immigration,” the Military Department said in a statement. “The Texas National Guard is taking unprecedented measures to safeguard our border and to repel and turn-back immigrants trying to cross the border illegally.” …

In a letter sent to President Biden last week, Abbott said the federal government’s “inaction” at the border has forced his hand.

“Two years of inaction on your part now leave Texas with no choice but to escalate our efforts to secure our State,” reads the letter.

DC Students and School Staff Must Take COVID-19 Tests to Return After Thanksgiving — Despite Mandatory Vaccines

All students and school staff at DC public schools must test negative for COVID before returning to campus after Thanksgiving break.
The tests are required despite COVID-19 vaccination being mandatory for students ages 12 and older and “highly encouraged” for younger students. Staff are also required to be vaccinated.
The school district is urging families to pick up COVID tests at their schools from November 17 through November 22.
Families are being told to test students on November 27 and upload their results to a school district website. “To support a safe return from Thanksgiving break, all students and staff are expected to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Families should test their students and upload test results at DCPSstrong.com/testing on Sunday, November 27,” a notice at the top of the school district’s website reads.

Fauci, the outgoing chief medical adviser to the White House, spoke about Americans needing to get tested for the Chinese coronavirus before attending Thanksgiving gatherings, adding that “everybody” should be vaccinated and boosted as reporters bombarded him with questions about the origins of the Chinese coronavirus.
As reporters started shouting questions at Fauci, Jean-Pierre stepped in to reprimand reporters who wanted to ask the “best person” about the origins of the Chinese coronavirus, while the press secretary appeared not to call on certain reporters.
“We have a process here. I’m not calling on people who yell and you’re being disrespectful to your colleagues, and you’re being disrespectful to our guests,” Jean-Pierre said while glaring at a reporter in one of the back rows.
“I will not call on you if you yell, and also, you’re taking time off the clock, because Dr. Fauci has to leave in a couple of minutes,” she told the reporters in the room.

“a majority of Americans dying from the coronavirus received at least the primary series of the vaccine.”

The latest data shows that 58% of COVID-19 deaths in August 2022 were from people who were vaccinated or boosted. Based on past figures and the current trends, we can reasonably estimate that the number of vaccinated/boosted COVID-19 deaths will only rise. (In September 2021, the vaccinated accounted for 23% of COVID-19 deaths; in January/February 2022, the vaccinated were 42%.)
This is what happens when you rush ineffective and dangerous vaccines.
The FDA’s promises of efficacy – 91% for the Pfizer vaccine and 93% for the Moderna vaccine – were always based on hope, not data. So too were the promises of safety. At the time of the official approvals, both Pfizer and Moderna hadn’t submitted any type of long-term numbers on effectiveness. Their trials were polluted with the unblinding of participants and their safety studies are “ongoing.”
Now, we’re seeing efficacy numbers plummet within months of vaccination. The pandemic is of the vaccinated. The boosters? They’re to the benefit of the medical establishment and the pharmaceutical companies, as they mask the true problems with the two-shot vaccines. Even with these numbers, the outgoing Anthony Fauci continues to vouch for the jab, stating the data “overwhelmingly show the effectiveness of vaccines.”

Arizona GOP Sues Katie Hobbs Over State’s Botched Election, Now 6 Counties Will Suspend Its Certification of Results

Arizona Attorney General candidate Abe Hamadeh has joined a lawsuit with the Republican National Committee against Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and a host of Arizona election officials.
Abe Hamadeh filed the lawsuit on Tuesday contesting the preliminary results of the state election, which is heading to an automatic recount. Hamadeh trails his Democratic opponent Kris Mayes by just 510 votes: 1,254,102 for Hamadeh and 1,254,612 for Mayes. The difference is within the 0.5% margin needed to force a recount.
“The suit argues that equipment failures and errors in the management of polling places and in ballot tabulation led to an incorrect final vote count,” the Times added. “It says there was no ‘fraud, manipulation or other intentional wrongdoing,’ but it claims there were mistakes that affected the final tally, given the contest’s narrow margin.”
Hamadeh on Tuesday night announced the election lawsuit.

The lawsuit makes the following allegations about Maricopa County’s election:

The Maricopa County Defendants have improperly disqualified provisional ballots and early ballots submitted by individuals who, as a direct and proximate result of poll worker error, were incorrectly designated inelectronic pollbooks as having previously voted in the same election
The Maricopa County Defendants have improperly and unconstitutionally deprived individuals whose eligibility could not be confirmed of an opportunity to cast a provisional ballot
The County Defendants have erroneously transposed and improperly tabulated voters indicated candidate selections when duplicating certain ballots that could not be electronically tabulated
The County Defendants have erroneously determined and improperly tabulated voters indicated candidate selections when adjudicating certain ballots that could not be electronically tabulated
The County Defendants improperly accepted for processing and tabulation certain early ballots that were accompanied by affidavits presenting a signature that did not match the signature on file in the putative voter’s registration record

Six counties are now suspending its certification of Arizona’s state election, as reported by Archer.

Florida Republican Legislature Considering State Law Change Allowing DeSantis to Run for President

When the republican Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives publicly supports a legislative change that would permit the republican Governor to run for the GOP nomination, it doesn’t happen without prior discussion.
Under current Florida law, if DeSantis were to run for president then he would have to resign his post as governor — even if he eventually lost the presidency. Candidates have 10 days to resign after they qualify for federal office, but how exactly that is defined when it comes to the presidency isn’t clear and has been open to different interpretations, according to The Miami Herald.
