Fight Like A Girl: Addy Starr

May 15, 2014

Addy Starr by Alexander Vlad

Mild-mannered teacher by day, pro-wrestler by night – Addy Starr is Stew’s guest for this edition of FLAG, where we answer a bunch of questions… such as just how a Canadian pro-wrestler ends up teaching in England, just how deep her “secret identity” goes, whether teaching or wrestling brings the most enjoyment, and her experiences so far as she dips a toe in the UK wrestling scene. We also talk about, yes, lego. Not as a child’s toy – but as a weapon in a wrestling ring, and just how painful it is to bump into (clue = very), and the origins of the lego death match in ISW. We also talk intergender wrestling, with specific reference to her encounters in Beyond Wrestling and WSU with Chris Dickinson – and the psychology of working those kind of matches. We also talk the next year, and whether a return to Canada is on the horizon or not. A really interesting and fun 25 minutes with the “All-American Canadian”. Have a listen.
