In today’s episode, Teresa talks with Kweilin Ellingrud of McKinsey & Company. Kweilin is McKinsey Global Institute Director, Senior Partner, and author of the recent article ‘How does Gen Z see its place in the working world? With trepidation’ and ‘American Opportunity Survey.’

Teresa and Kweilin discuss how in today’s workplace, we have 4 generations working together, and they are all very different. The American Opportunity Survey spoke to 25,000 Americans and found that even though Gen Z faces many challenges, they are the most optimistic.

The survey also found that Gen Z is working multiple jobs, mostly independent work, but most think they will never retire, or own a house because of affordability reasons. Another challenge Gen Z faces is mental health and paying for it.

Teresa and Kweilin also talk about the survey results for working remotely and hybrid working.
