Is hybrid work the best of both worlds or the worst of it? Even before the pandemic  organizations struggled to find  the right mix of having workers in the office or elsewhere and two years into it many are still trying to find the right model of work. To talk about this options, Linda Nazareth is joined on this episode by Prof. Nicholas Bloom, economics professor at Stanford University. Prof. Bloom  thinks there is a happy medium with hybrid work and discusses his own research as well what he has been hearing from organizations making decisions on the future of work.

Nicholas (Nick) Bloom is the William Eberle Professor of Economics at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow of SIEPR, and the Co-Director of the Productivity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research focuses on working from home, management practices and uncertainty. He previously worked at the UK Treasury and McKinsey & Company.


He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the recipient of the Sloan Fellowship, the Bernacer Prize, the Frisch Medal and a National Science Foundation Career Award. He has a BA from Cambridge, an MPhil from Oxford, and a PhD from University College London.


On the personal side he is English, living with his Scottish wife and American kids on Stanford campus, in a multi-accented English household.
