Show 9- Femininity and Freedom… with Marjolein Brugman

November 04, 2014

When Marjolein gave birth to her daughter, she was ready to buy her Converse sneakers and teach her to climb trees. To her surprise, her daughter turned out to be this prim, feminine little thing that only wanted to wear dresses and lace.

A tomboy all her life, Marjolein was challenged by this. Slowly, she began to embrace the femininity in herself as well as in her daughter. She began to open up to the tendency to be receptive, to nurture others, and to nurture herself.

From science teacher, to New York TV producer, to creator of Aeropilates and founder of LighterLiving.com, Marjolein has led a varied life. Health, wellness, and imparting knowledge have always been the harmonious agents in her journey. Growing up in Australia as the daughter of Dutch immigrant parents, her mother was a nurse, and so she was always in the presence of healthy living habits.

Listen to this podcast filled with lovely stories and wisdom, and along the way you’ll hear about some of the dramatic events in Marjolein’s life that turned her into who she is today.

With a love to empower other women about their health and wellness, it is an absolute treasure to listen to Marjolein speak. I hope that this  conversation has as a big of an impact on your life as it did on mine.

In this episode, Marjolein shares:

  • How she embraced her femininity after being a life-long tomboy
