Episode 1 of With Relish takes a look deep inside one of Ireland’s most important culinary events. Ballymaloe cookery school opens its doors to the public for its fifth year running as Litfest 2017 commences later on this week. To warm you up for this years event, we have lined up of some of the festivals most prolific speakers from the past five years to give us an insight into all things Litfest.

With a deep focus on food literacy for this years event, Harry and Aoife spoke to Festival Director Rory O’Connell about the new change in direction and what to expect from this years speakers. Veteran food blogger Caroline Hennesy talks about turning your passion into a career, and the early days of food blogging. John McKenna of the McKenna Food Guide delves deep into the history and importance of food literature. Finally, Michelle Darmody of Our Table and formerly The Cake Cafe is our very first guest In The Kitchen, where she speaks to us about the often harsh reality of running your own restaurant.
