Episode 52: Home Cooking in the Time of COVID19

March 30, 2020

On this episode, Jacob and Alison check in with each other remotely to talk with Chef Steve Kestler, chef and co-owner of Maize St., a local Latin American food truck. Steve breaks down the essentials to stocking your kitchen and cooking during COVID-19.

Steve also delves into his passion for Latin American cuisine, explains the ties to his Mesoamerican roots, and how he wants to shine a light on the sounds, flavors and traditions of the region. He shares his opinion on recipes (hint, he doesn’t like them) and explains why he prefers to invite and challenge home cooks to use their instincts and senses to compose a dish.
