Grace – God’s Generosity – S3E14

August 31, 2021

In general, if you ask some people the meaning of the word 'grace' they may say it is the prayer offered at a meal. Whereas for others 'grace' is the period of time between a bill due date and final notice. Although grace has several definitions, for this post, I am talking about the grace of God. Hence, the title of this podcast episode; Grace--God's Generosity.

God’s Grace is a generous gift

In addition, grace also means favor or goodwill. Of course, there is some favor and goodwill in the world but it pales in comparison to God's grace.

"But what makes God's grace superior?" That's a good question. And Proverbs 4:7 New King James Version says, "Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding."

So, ladies and gentlemen let's get some understanding. Simply put, there is nothing anyone can do to earn God’s grace. Because His grace/favor is undeserved and unending. Thus, it is a free gift.

God’s Grace is sufficient

Another significant fact to know is God’s grace is always more than enough. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 Amplified it says, “but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.”

Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”

Just receive—grace God’s generosity

It is true, grace--God's generosity is available to all who will receive. It comes through His son Jesus Christ the person of grace. In other words, upon receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, one receives grace, a gift that came at a great cost. You see, grace is a part of the salvation package. Also, included in this divine package are forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life.
