Sleep Apnea is a widespread problem in Oklahoma.  The high rate of obesity leads to chronic obstruction of airways which, in turn, leads to interruption of normal sleep patterns.  Sleep Apnea can cause heart problems, diabetes, lack of proper rest and even death.Our guest knows all about sleep issues.  Kellie Jones, M.D., Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Heart, Lung and Vascular Center, is board certified and tells us about symptoms, sleep hygiene and treatment options.  If you are, or know someone who is, “Sleepless in Oklahoma” you will want to listen to this podcast of the Voice of Diabetes.
