The Dow Jones industrial average closed down 10.22 points, or 0.06 percent, to 17,540.47. The S&P 500 rose 6.52 points, or 0.31 percent, to 2,099.84, and the Nasdaq Composite added 34.40 points, or 0.67 percent, to 5,139.95.

The Visual Marketplace Index came roaring back today, it’s up almost 1%, to finish trading at 261.16 – up more than two points, largely on strong performance from Amazon, Netflix, and Google.
