It’s life in the big city for Brandt and Coach, but it hasn’t always been that way.  Thom West came to Brandt’s hometown of Steeleville, IL and was asked to stay over by a perfect stranger who was concerned for his safety legitimately.  Brandt and Coach trade stories about life in a small town, to the amazement of Thom.  The best story was Coach admitting at the Wal-Mart in his hometown there is a hitching post for horses.  That is not made up.

The punishment cannot fit the crime in hockey for illegal hits in hockey.  It has to be a set number of games, because players react differently to the same hit. The offender cannot be out for the same length of time as the victim.  Brandt provides several different examples of why this is not the case.  The 2-2-1-1-1 format is ridiculous for a 7-game series in hockey or any other sport.  The series should go 2-2-3.

Steroids in baseball are not a moral decision.  They are a business one.  A guy taking steroids doesn’t mean that he is a bad guy.  A guy that cheats on his wife is.  When there is money involved, and this much of it, people will try to get an edge by taking PEDs, cheating or anything else that gives them an advantage.  Additionally, players in general, want to make money and win a ring for themselves…not for their teammates, not for the fans and certainly not for “the city.”  Loyalty has a price. Ask Albert.
