TDR 028 - The Problem With Daylight Savings Time
This past weekend, many of us experienced the celestial phenomenon known as "daylight savings time" (DST).
This is the one day of the year that is only 23 hours long! It is a magical event that continues to confound astronomers and mathematicians to this day.
All kidding aside, while DST may be a historical throwback to a time when we were much more agrarian as a culture, its health effects are very real.
Research suggests that you never fully adjust your circadian rhythm to the hour shift associated with DST. Also, losing an hour of sleep may increase your risk for a heart attack over the following three days.
In this episode we talk about how to adjust to the time change and what you can do to prevent the nasty side-effects of DST
