Set decades after Captain James T. Kirk’s 5-year mission, a new generation of Starfleet officers in a new Enterprise set off on their own mission to go where no one has gone before.

It’s a widely held belief that the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation is its worst and so it seems reasonable that the very first (double) episode Encounter at Farpoint may not be up to scratch.

What did Lee and Dan think of the episode and how hard is it to separate discussing this one episode when faced with the entire franchise legacy of Star Trek?
