Peru, visiting the motherland, talking travel with Steve De La Torre of FitProInferno.com

September 01, 2014

Have you ever thought about where your roots are from? Most of us are immigrants who’s family came from some place else.

Today’s conversation covers all sorts of topics travel related as well as the notion of traveling to your motherland country for the first time.

I invite Steve De La Torre of Fitpro Inferno.

Shout Out: Quality Thrives

Imagine a world where success wasn’t focused around financial gain, but instead, dedication and work ethic. Where status was based around effort, honesty, and one’s ability to produce quality rather than output quantity.

Quality Thrives aims to document the passion, struggle, and dedication of 250 everyday entrepreneurs across America by conducting unique, documentary-style interviews. In doing so, we hope to start a conversation about the value of effort and authenticity, and the need for more honest, genuine content distribution on the web.

Travel Card Recommendation: Lufthansa’s Premier Miles & More® World MasterCard®

Today’s travel hacking card recommendation is the Lufthansa’s Premier Miles & More® World MasterCard® where, my friends, you will earn 50,000 bonus miles. 20,000 miles are earned after your first purchase, so you can simply buy a stick of gum! You’ll earn an additional 30,000 miles when you spend $5,000 within the first 90 days of opening the account.

There are no foreign transaction fees on this card so it’s perfect for when you travel. The annual fee is $79, which is a small price to earn the bonus miles.

You can use this to redeem flights and upgrades on Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, and any Star Alliance member airlines, which includes United, Air Canada, Eva Air, Turkish Airlines, and ANA, also known as All Nippon Airways, a japanese airline that also owns a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

In today’s episode, I bring on another special guest. He’s an entrepreneur, fitness trainer and also a fellow podcast who I’ve gotten to know quite a bit. Now, we go into all sorts of things travel related. I did this interview, if you can even call it that, actually it was just a casual fun conversation after we had lunch in Downtown Huntington Beach. I had just gotten back from my travels around the Balkans, fresh from the magic that is Croatia, and I just decided to bust out the podcast gear to record a conversation over by the Pier in Huntington Beach.

Now, I had no idea what we were going to be talking about, to be honest. But I just let my nose of curiosity find its way around and we actually get some breaking news at the end. In fact, I was in the presence of Peruvian royalty, if I can call it that. Nevertheless, it was just fun to explore topics about travel and just the notion of traveling to your family’s native motherland country.

Enjoy the conversation with Steve De La Torre.
