Covering one of my all-time favorite dramas, co-pilot Jake Shaker and I dedicate this episode to AMC's first original series, MAD MEN. A show that is deeply literary, acclaimed for its nostalgic elegance and distinctive 50s aesthetic, Mad Men hits some serious tonal and thematic notes immediately in its pilot episode. I mention that this pilot would make a rather compelling short story, owed to the quiet but captivating tension that boils deep within the interiority of several leading characters, most of all Don Draper.
