The Whisperings of the Spirit is one way God speaks to us.
Last week we discussed prayer. One way we receive answers to those prayers is through the whisperings of the Spirit. Chapter 7 of the Gordon B. Hickley manual is titled, The Whisperings of the Spirit.

Those whisperings occur to us in many ways. One of those ways is through dreams. Elder Richard G. Scott spoke about this in General Conference of April 2012.
The Lord uses individuals for whom we have great respect to teach us truths in a dream because we trust them and will listen to their counsel.

Another way we hear the whisperings of the Spirit is through the still small voice. A couple years ago I sang Mendelssohn's Elijah with the Millennial Choirs and Orchestras. One song that changed how I think about the Holy Ghost was "Behold, God the Lord Passed By". (Listen on Spotify)

Elder Bednar does a good job of describing how the Spirit speaks to us in the video series Patterns of Light.
