The Reunion LIVE #10 – Voices of Dallas [im]migrants
On the Last Sunday of November, we bring a round table discussion on immigration politics, history, and realities in Dallas and our nation as a whole. Our panel is made up of 3 activists (2 of which are undocumented) who not only share their own personal stories but comprehensively lay down facts on DACA, DACA/DAPA, the history of how immigration reform became a national topic, why Dallas has the highest deportation amounts in Texas though detention centers and the for profit industrial complex. We bring on a controversial topics during our open mic like Rachel Dolezal v Caitlyn Jenner and the conversation that follows. And round up the night with a short history and performance of son jarocho, a native music from Veracruz, Mexico performed by son de la izquierda.
Our Guests and Panel Members:
María Yolisma García (undocumented organizer with North Texas Dream Team & UT Arlington student)
Juan Cardoza-Oquendo (immigrant interfaith organizer & member of son de la izquierda)
Pamela Reséndiz Trujano (undocumented organizer & member of son de la izquierda)
