33. Teaching Children about Consent

September 28, 2021

How can we teach children about consent during their younger years? Listen to this episode to find out in which the Puberty Prof talks with Lauren K. Carlson about simple concepts supporting consent for people of all ages. A victim of sexual assault herself, Lauren understands the importance of supporting all children, including the “child inside,” as well as providing them a voice. In addition, she recommends how adults can support victims when told that inappropriate behaviors occurred, including adults saying: “I believe you,” “It wasn’t your fault, and “You didn’t deserve it.”

Lauren is the mother of three children and author of the Consent for Kids book series and children’s book, My Body is My Own. To learn more about Lauren, including her books, go to her website titled Imperfectly Bold.
