Listen to tell a better story in your photography

September 13, 2021

Episode 340

It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.Mark Twain

In this week’s podcast, we take a note from the above quote by Twain and how we might apply the concepts behind that quote to make a better photograph. Much of photography is about telling a story in our images. If we start telling a story before we know what we want to say, we might make uninteresting work. However, by listening to others tell stories and the stories we tell, we might be able to better apply the storytelling skills to our work. The long and short of it is that we should talk a little less and listen a little more both behind the camera and not.
