I still distinctly remember sneaking an MC Hammer cassette tape home from high school to listen to a new kind of music my friends were calling Rap. While Hip Hop would never become my musical genre of choice, it was thanks to acts like Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul that I would develop an appreciation for songs with smart lyrics and a J Dilla type beat.It's been a few years since my last hip hop mix, so I thought it was time to drop another mixtape.
