Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino is an interaction designer, product designer, entrepreneur & speaker based in London. She was named 2nd in Top 100 Internet of Things Thought Leaders (Onalytica, 2014) and is in the 2014 Top 100 Influential Tech Women on Twitter (Business Insider). Since 2006, she has built consumer-facing internet of things products, services and communities for clients such as BBC R&D, Nokia, British Gas, EDF, British Telecom.

In my interview with Alexandra, we travel far afield in our discussion landing on Kickstarter as a marketing platform and how to poison the VC well.  She also describes the Good Night Lamp a smart home IoT product she has been working with on and off for ten years.  After a visit to CES to roll out the Kickstarter campaign the funding side of the project augured in causing grief for the next year.
