Karl Martin Interview

August 07, 2014

Karl Martin started out as an academic with a passion for building things that make people think.  After many years of grad school he decided that commercializing things was more his speed.  He had studied biometrics and had an idea for a novel application of ECG technology.  He also wanted to build something more than once, he wanted to produce a product.  He confronted the truth of Einstein's quote "In theory, theory and practice are the same.  In practice they are not."

The product he is developing takes a novel approach to identity by using heart beat as the signature. Yes, everyone's heartbeat is unique to them and it makes for a method to have persistent identity with which to interact with other devices.  Karl tells the story much better, so listen to our interview.

Hear Karl's interview and find all the resources we talked about and more at www.theiots.com.  I cover the developers and disrupters in the internet of things, wearable, quantifiedself, and smart home technology.
