The Muirfield Members Voted No Women – The R&A Says No Open For You
No Women No Open for Muirfield. The members at Muirfield failed to reach a majority vote to allow membership for women at this historic and exclusive club. The vote for women members was within a couple of percentage points of the majority. The R & A quickly announced there would be no Open Championship dates awarded to Muifield as long as this situation exists. In an era when equality is commonplace and growing the game is a priority around the globe, the old guard at Muifield has remained consistent but out of sync with the rest of the world (at least) on this matter.
