The Culture Bum Podcast is back! I'm going to call this Season 2! I'm currently in Nicaragua having a blast and the first few episodes will be interviews with people in hostels that I meet. The WiFi as I travel is quite awful so please bear with me until my schedule settles down and I get back to China at the end of February and I'll so more shows with ESL teachers.

So today we are talking to David Powell from Akron Ohio. David is a cyclist who has been traveling the world for a few decades but I stumbled into a story that is very moving. David and some fellow cyclists went from Montreal to New Orleans one summer to raise awareness for childhood starvation and illnesses and lobbying Congress to keep and expand programs for childhood safety and food resources.

It is a lesson of how we can all still make a difference and David had some amazing words about the power of the internet (that we mostly squander) and what we can do to affect the causes we feel passionate about.
