Ep 41: Starting Summer with Autumn

June 11, 2016

The Butcher Shop welcomes Johnny’s niece, Shannon Baumgartner, and great niece, Autumn Baumgartner to discuss Autumn’s ascension to the top of Oregon’s basketball scene. Autumn parlayed 2 State Titles, an award for Southwest Conference Player of the Year, and a McDonald’s All-American nomination to net an athletic scholarship to Georgetown University. Georgetown? She must be smart, too. Are we sure she’s related to Johnny? Autumn and Shannon detail the life of an All-State hoops star rising from 5 year old phenom to the leading scorer in the state. Along the way, Autumn tells us what makes the women’s game a less selfish brand of basketball.
And speaking of selfish, Autumn explains why Mamba is her favorite player…
And LeBron gets zero love…
We also talk about why another Hoya gets a Bad Rap as we discuss the Answer on his birthday week.
And finally, the Butcher Shop pays tribute to the original G.O.A.T.. Rest in Power, Champ. We were blessed to walk the earth with you.
