Ellie Turner US Visa Application Approved, Will Compete at Rogue Invitational

October 07, 2022

Ellie Turner is all smiles this afternoon after she received word that her U.S. visa application has been approved. With that, she will now be able to enter the United States again just three weeks before she was scheduled to compete at this year’s Rogue Invitational.

For those who might have missed it, Turner has been living in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, since late August as she awaited to hear if her application for a longer-term visa would be approved. She told Sevan Matossian during her appearance on The Sevan Podcast that she had an interview scheduled and would hear shortly after that.

But while Turner was staying positive throughout the ordeal, she did admit that the timing for the approval could be really close to the start of the Rogue Invitational on October 28.

This afternoon, however, Turner shared a photo of her passport on an Instagram story and commented, “Never been so excited to see and hold this thing in my life. See ya soon.”

Turner received an invitation to compete at the 2022 Rogue Invitational after several top 15 Games athletes declined their automatic invite. Turner is coming off her second appearance at the CrossFit Games where she finished 18th overall and notched an event victory in Hat Trick.

The 2022 Rogue Invitational is a three-day competition beginning Friday, October 28 in Austin, TX. Along with the men’s and women’s CrossFit competition, the Rogue Invitational will host a Strongman competition, Rogue Record Breaker competitions and the Legends competition featuring some of the biggest names from former Games athletes including Rich Froning, Josh Bridges, Sam Briggs, Annie Sakamoto and more.
