God had spoken to Jonah, and he’d run away. His fleeing ends with him being thrown overboard and getting swallowed by a fish.

We know this is not the end of Jonah’s story, but Jonah doesn’t. Jonah has no idea that this is all part of God’s plan, he doesn’t know that the fish is the method God uses to get him to Nineveh. For Jonah, it’s curtains and all he has to look forward to is his eternity. What does Jonah do when he believes all is lost?

This morning we consider how Jonah’s response to his circumstances and to God in the belly of the fish gives us insight and hope when we’re in a dark place.
