49 - On Holding Space (Making It Safe For Yourself & Others To Not Be OK)

September 16, 2022

This episode is a really beautiful (and perhaps confronting) exploration of what it really takes to be a safe space for others, and what not to do when it comes to taking in another person's pain, hardships and challenges.

It also serves as a mirror for us all, so we may begin observing the ways we may be contributing to the closure of those who we deeply desire to support, connect with and create a safe space for, so they may heal, and have their own process.

If you take only one thing away from this episode, let it be this:

As women who are operating from a level of consciousness that requires a specific level of spaciousness, compassion, understanding and acknowledgement, it goes without saying that we don't want to be fixed, saved, felt sorry for or shamed for what we're experiencing. And if we find ourselves doing this to others, it's a beautiful opportunity to turn in, face ourselves, and begin tending to our inner ecology.

Trying to fix someone is about you needing to feel better about how they're feeling. The focus shifts from them to you and they feel that, and ultimately this interrupts their process.

I hope you can receive this episode with deep humility, compassion and understanding.

And just a gentle reminder, we all do this. We are human beings. We can use this as an opportunity to connect us, rather than separate us.

If this episode felt yummy to receive, please share it with the women in your world. You can also let me know here. I'd love to hear from you.
