TGI 40: How to Find Creative Clarity and Mitigate Risk with Jay Acunzo, Founder of Marketing Showrunners

March 05, 2020

Today we’re joined by Jay Acunzo, he is a globally touring keynote speaker, author of the book Break the Wheel, and a sought after podcast and docuseries host/producer. I’m so excited for this episode because Jay contributed significantly to me starting this podcast. I first ran into his work while he was host of the Traction podcast, which is phenomenal. It was after that show ended that I wanted more of that content, when I thought that I could do my own podcast about Traction, and then expand it to include growth and income. Here we are 40 episodes later and it’s been a blast. Back to Jay - - When he’s not traveling the world speaking or telling business innovation stories on a show, he’s running Marketing Showrunners, a media company for people who want to find their voice, make a difference, and change the culture of their industries for the better. Subscribers hail from organizations like Red Bull, Amazon Prime, the BBC, the New York Times, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and thousands of small businesses.

Jay began as a sports journalist before moving into tech, holding media and marketing roles at Google and HubSpot, and an executive role at the venture capital firm NextView.

His thinking has been cited in courses at Harvard Business School and by writers at the New York Times, the Washington Post, FastCompany, Fortune, Entrepreneur, and more.

In this episode, you’ll learn how to mitigate risk when starting a new creative venture, how to think when developing your own systems, and what to look for when trying to find the perfect creative match for you.
