Tech In Boston

Diane Hessan [Tech In Boston #49]

August 06, 2015

Most people will tell you that the key to building a great company is something like "hire great people, have a great product, and have a great customer experience."

But Diane Hessan isn't most people. On this episode of Tech In Boston, she tells it like it is, and shares the ups and downs of her 13 years building and running C Space (previously CommuniSpace; acquired by Omnicom in 2011).

From being the first one in her family to go to college, to starting a company right in the middle of the dotcom bubble, to a company-saving pivot based on feedback from a key customer, and an employee fraud scandal that nearly ended everything, Diane shares it all including her new role as the CEO of Startup Institute.
