Destination Freedom: Crispus Attucks
Destination Freedom marked the first time in radio history that black cast members held major roles while white actors played subordinate parts. The show features a recurring ensemble of African-Americans with occasional white contributors profiling anyone from Underground Railroad heroine Harriet Tubman to heart surgeons Ulysses Grant Dailey and Daniel Hale Williams.
Crispus Attucks, the first man to die for American freedom during the Revolution, is featured in this episode.
