E25: Mark Pedersen and Ludwina Dautovic Discuss the Common Risks Associated with Software and Mobile App Development

September 23, 2014

Switched On Ep: 25 Featuring Dr. Mark Pedersen
Today I’m having a thought provoking conversation with Dr Mark Pedersen, the national innovation manager for KJ Ross and Associates. We recently connected via an upcoming even called Iqnite which will be at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in October. I was really interested in his ideas around software and app development and what we need to consider when developing these products. There were a few aha moments that I wasn't expecting. One in particular was how much as a society we are reliant on software. We touched on thoughts such as what would happen if the Ambulance despatch software broke down or if our banking system crashed. I don’t we think we realise on a conscious level how much we really rely on it. And then there’s apps which have become a part of our everyday existence. We have apps for banking, music, reminders, podcasts… even I’ve got an app for this show. (btw if you haven’t got it yet head over to the show notes pages www.Ludwina.com and download your android or itunes app now!) They’re really become imbedded in our lives. In our conversation today we drill down into what needs to be considered in regards to quality and assurance in the development process of software and apps and the difference it can make to the overall outcome.
You can find out more about the Iqnite conference by going to www.iquite-conference.com. I’ll be there so make sure you grab yourself a ticket and come and say hi. BTW my good friend Chris Adams and CEO of Spondo.com will be one of the keynote speakers at the event.
Comment from Mark...
“I’m loving what Ludwina is bringing to the industry by helping us all navigate the constantly evolving world of technology, user experience and social networks. Ultimately, it’s about connecting with people and through Switched On, Ludwina is helping people make that connection better, faster and broader than any other presenter I know in the digital space.”
