Description:
Dr. Michael Greger, M.D., FACLM is a physician, New York Times bestselling author, founding member and Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and an internationally recognized speaker on nutrition, food safety, and public health issues. Dr. Greger is a general practitioner specializing in clinical nutrition. In 2017, Dr. Greger was honored with the ACLM Lifestyle Medicine Trailblazer Award. He is a graduate of Cornell University School of Agriculture and Tufts University School of Medicine.  He runs the popular website Nutritionfacts.org, a nonprofit, science-based public service site providing free daily updates on the latest nutrition research. Dr. Gregor’s newest book: “How not to Diet” lays out the key ingredients of a successful diet, one that can beat the results of any trendy-based approach. In the book, he goes beyond food discussing the science of chronobiology and fat burning regiments. It’s important to note that all proceeds received from his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements are all donated to charity.
In this episode, we dive deep discussing his path to medicine, why he chose to practice lifestyle medicine, and we discuss the lapse of nutritional training in medical education.
