Dr. Mondala is a Southern California Native who completed Medical School and received a Masters of Biomedical Sciences and Masters in Healthcare Administration from Rosalind Franklin Medical School. She went on complete her Family Medicine residency at Loma Linda University where she is now a Preventative Medicine faculty specializing in Lifestyle and Integrative Medicine. Dr. Mondala is active in the American college of Lifestyle Medicine pushing the boundary of what it means to treat patients from a holistic perspective. With experience practicing in China, Guam, the Midwest and on the west coast, Dr. Mondala is using lifestyle and culture to treat patients and study methods of habitual lifestyle modifications. On so many of our episodes we have interviewed specialists and surgical specialists, when in reality, primary care is shaping how we treat patients of tomorrow.
In this episode, we dive deep discussing why she chose family medicine and the continuity of care following patients throughout their life it provides. We discuss diet, nutrition, lifestyle, exercise and overall well-being to help patients reverse disease and help get them off their medications. And lastly, we discuss advice to medical students and residents about taking care of oneself and how to incorporate lifestyle modifications into our own lives.
